About the People We Are

We are Christians.

We are like most Christians in the United States, having been raised in, or led to, various protestant denominations or Catholicism. We have been told what to believe by our various churches and continued thinking we knew the truth of our Christian faith until discovering for ourselves what the Bible teaches.

To our alarm, we began to find disturbing disparities between the doctrines taught in the Bible and those taught by our respective churches. We have found, when these differences are questioned with pastors or friends, we are all too often met with hostile rebuttals or patronizing platitudes.  What we did not find was a heartfelt curiosity to explore our concerns.

We share a common perplexity in the closed-mindedness we have been met with, honestly wondering where it comes from. Now, it is our mission to show others what we have found as we search for the truth—the marvel, the mystery, and the mayhem within Christian teaching.

We believe the evidence shows the theology of the Christian world, in general, has departed from sound Biblical teaching and most church-going brothers and sisters do not know it. Worse yet, it has been going on for centuries. Our loyalties are to God alone, not the traditions of men.

About Our Group

We’re not an organization in the traditional sense and we have no desire to become one. Everyone who participates in this website is a volunteer. We endorse no denomination. We fellowship with one another through this website and email correspondence. We acknowledge that most churches are businesses, some with staggering wealth.  They have buildings to maintain, a product to deliver, money to collect, wages to be paid, good works programs to promote, and a clientele they need to keep happy. Many of these denominations are losing their members, and we believe we know why.

About Our Hope For This Website

Our only goal is to share what God has shown us, something nearly lost in mainstream Christianity – sound doctrine. We don’t want donations or to sell you anything. We are self-funded. The gospel taught by most churches, though most are Bible based, tend to be incomplete or distorted, redacting elements necessary for salvation.  The real truth the Bible teaches has been deliberately obscured, and to our sadness, we find many Christians actually preferring it that way 2 Timothy 4:3-4

Wouldn’t all Christians want to know the Bible truth if that is what is needed for salvation? The apparent lack of concern confounds us. Our mission is to reach the few that Jesus spoke of: “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” Matthew 7:13-14

About Our Website Name

Why do we use 1st John as a website name? We find in the entire book of 1st John a very beautiful description of what it means to be a true Christian. For an even closer look, we zoom in on 12 specific verses where John describes what it means to be “Children of God”. It begins with 1 John 2:28-29  and concludes with 1 John 3:1-10 .

We believe that when John penned this letter, he shows us what a true follower of Jesus Christ looks like. He describes living a new life in the Spirit that completely replaces our old life we led before accepting Christ as our Savior. Read it for yourself and see if you agree. If you don’t, and feel so inclined, please let us know your thoughts. That is what we are all about, an open discussion that leads people to embrace sound doctrine.

About Our Founder: Who is YF?

Yoder Fozzgood is not a person, but an amalgam of several people who share a common understanding of the Bible, 1 John 5:20, yet he is the ‘persona grata’ of our group. We do not want to build a ministry or a reputation for ourselves collectively or individually, so we choose to remain anonymous*. As such, our founder is a dedicated apologist for sound doctrine, a voice of reason calling out to anyone willing to listen. He welcomes cordial debate in the theater of discovery. Are we not all seeking the kingdom of God together?

We humbly think of ourselves as individual followers of Christ who research the Bible for truth. Everything we say and do is for our Savior Jesus Christ and His church. We wish only to share the truth we have found so people can be informed. We sound the alarm: False doctrine is a cloaked thief intent on stealing people’s salvation. Our hope is that some believers will be blessed in reading articles found in our website.

*A word about anonymity: doing a Microsoft Bing search for the phrase “the power of anonymity” we copy from the Copilot search: sub-heading: Anonymity in Online Interactions:In the digital age, anonymity has transformed how individuals communicate and express themselves. It provides a platform for free speech, enabling people to share opinions without fear of judgment or retribution. This can foster supportive online communities, particularly for those discussing sensitive issues.”
